Please take note of the following:

Dispensation from Abstinence on Lunar New Year Eve
2024 – From the The Catholic Bishops’ Conference of
Malaysia, Singapore & Brunei

As reunion meals customarily take place on the eve of the
Lunar New Year, Catholics are dispensed from abstinence on
Friday, 9 Feb 2024.

However, the usual fasting and abstinence is to
be observed on Ash Wednesday, 14 Feb 2024,
and abstinence on all Fridays during Lent.
