Who Are We
The Audio-Visual Ministry (AVM) was started in 2005 by our then Asst Parish Priest, Fr Brian de Souza.
We are a wide-ranging group of 25 members from young to old who prepare and project the mass slides during both weekend and weekday masses. The weekday AVM team was formed as sharing of mass booklets during the COVID pandemic had to cease.
We are proud of our dedicated volunteers who offer their time to help make it easier for parishioners to participate in mass.
What We Do
We are part of the Liturgical Ministries and work closely with other ministries such as the choirs/animators and lectors. We also help to project promotional videos/slides before mass mainly for church and outreach events. Occasionally, when required, we also help with the AV requirements for weddings held in our parish.
For masses, we have a volunteer who prepares the base mass slides template which includes the readings and prayers. The slides are stored via a file hosting service and members would retrieve the file and liaise with the choirs/animators to insert the hymns into the slides and project the slide deck during mass.
In IHM, we also have a separate Media Team who records and uploads the 8.30 a.m. Sunday mass and other special events via YouTube channel.
Volunteer Opportunities
If you are interested in joining AVM, feel free to drop by the AV console to say “Hi” to us!
You only need to know basic Powerpoint skills, and we will teach you how to operate the system.
