Extraordinary Ministry Of Holy Communion (EMHC)

The Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion(EMHC) are called to a beautiful and sacred service in the life of the Church. More than performing a task, they are entrusted with the privilege of bringing the living presence of Christ to His people, especially to those who approach the altar with faith, longing, and reverence. Through their ministry, they become instruments of God’s love, mercy, and peace, helping the faithful encounter the Eucharist not simply as bread, but as the real presence of Jesus who strengthens, heals, and unites His Church.

This ministry also reminds us that to serve the Lord well, we must first remain close to Him. EMHCs are invited to abide in Christ through prayer, adoration, reflection, and acts of charity, so that their service may flow from a heart that is rooted in the Gospel. In this way, they do not merely distribute Holy Communion; they witness to the deep truth that Christ is present, active, and alive among His people.

At the heart of this vocation is the call to be ministers of communion, reconciliation, and hope. As they bring the Lord to others, they also proclaim by their lives that every act of service in the Church must lead back to Christ, the True Vine, from whom all grace and spiritual fruitfulness flow.

EMHCs are invited personally by the Parish Priest.
