The IHM Canteen Spiritual Family, comprising both young and old, embarked on a joyful 4.5km pilgrimage walk from St. Joseph’s Church (Bukit Timah) to the Church of St. Mary of the Angels (SMOTA) on 25 July 2026.
This pilgrimage was especially meaningful as it marked two Jubilee celebrations. St. Joseph’s Church (Bukit Timah) is celebrating its 180th Anniversary Jubilee with a special Plenary Indulgence granted by the Holy See, while SMOTA is a designated pilgrimage church for the Franciscan Jubilee Year, where pilgrims may also obtain a Plenary Indulgence by fulfilling the usual conditions.
Along the way, we prayed the Holy Rosary and offered the Divine Mercy Chaplet for the faithful departed. It was a joyful and fruitful journey, filled with fellowship, prayer and shared faith.
We thank the Lord for His loving providence and perfect timing. As we arrived at SMOTA, the heavy downpour began, yet it stopped as we left the church- allowing us to complete our entire pilgrimage on foot without getting caught in the rain. We also thank our Blessed Mother Mary for her loving intercession and protection throughout our journey.
May this pilgrimage inspire us to continue walking faithfully with Christ and grow together in hope, love and unity as one spiritual family.
