A Blessed First: Teochew Porridge Breakfast

canteen

On 19 July, the Canteen Ministry held its first-ever Teochew Porridge-themed Breakfast.

The breakfast featured a delightful spread of lovingly prepared home-cooked dishes, including braised pork, bean paste minced meat, Kung Pao chicken, hae bee hiam, as well as a wide variety of vegetable and egg dishes. The warm, comforting flavours brought many parishioners together for a joyful morning of fellowship and sharing.

The response from the parish community was truly overwhelming. It was heartening to see so many enjoying the food, spending time with one another and supporting this event.

Behind the scenes, many days of careful planning, preparation and dedicated teamwork went into making the breakfast a success. Every effort was richly rewarded by the smiles, encouragement and enthusiastic participation of our parishioners.

Above all, we give thanks to God for His loving guidance throughout the planning and execution of the event. We also seek the continued intercession of Mother Mary, whose prayers and maternal care inspire us in our service to the parish community.

Our heartfelt appreciation goes to all the volunteers, cooks and supporters who contributed their time, talents and generosity. May God bless each one abundantly and may this be the first of many more opportunities for our parish family to gather in faith fellowship and service.
