Corpus Christi
O Sacrament Most Holy
1. O Jesus we adore you,
who in your love divine,
Conceal your mighty Godhead
in forms of bread and wine (R)
O sacrament most holy,
O sacrament divine,
All praise and all thanksgiving
Be every moment thine!
2. O Jesus we adore you,
our victim and our priest,
Whose precious blood and body
become our sacred feast (R)
3. O Jesus we adore you,
our Saviour and our King,
And with the saints and angels
our humble homage bring (R)
4. O Jesus we adore you,
come live in us we pray,
That all our thoughts and actions
be yours alone today (R)
5. O come, all you who labour
in sorrow and in pain;
Come eat this bread from heaven,
your peace and strength regain.(R)
Song Of The Body Of Christ
We come to share our story,
We come to break the bread,
We come to know our rising
from the dead.
1. We come as your people.
We come as your own.
United with each other,
love finds a home. (R)
2. We are called to heal the broken,
to be hope for the poor.
We are called to feed the hungry
at our door. (R)
3. Bread of life and cup of promise,
In this meal we all are one.
In our dying and our rising,
may your kingdom come. (R)
4. You will lead and we shall follow.
You will be the breath of life;
living water, we are thirsting
for your light. (R)
5. We will live and sing your praises.
“Alleluia” is our song.
May we live in love and peace our
whole life long. (R)”
Adoro Te Devote (Godhead Here In Hiding)
1. Godhead here in hiding,
whom I do adore
Masked by these bare shadows,
shape and nothing more.
See, Lord, at thy service
low lies here a heart
Lost, all lost in wonder
at the God thou art.
2. Seeing, touching, tasting
are in thee deceived;
How says trusty hearing?
that shall be believed:
What God’s S-on has told me,
take for truth I do;
Truth himself speaks truly
or there’s nothing true.
3. On the cross thy Godhead
made no sign to men;
Here thy very manhood
steals from human ken:
Both are my confession,
both are my belief,
And I pray the prayer
made by the dying thief.
4. I am not like Thomas,
wounds I cannot see,
But I plainly call thee
Lord and God as he:
This faith each day deeper
be my holding of,
Daily make me harder
hope and dearer love.
5. O thou, our reminder
of Christ Crucified,
Living bread, the life of us
for whom he died,
Lend this life to me, then;
feed and feast my mind,
There be thou the sweetness,
man was meant to find.
6. Like what tender tales tell
of the Pelican,
Bathe me, Jesus Lord,
in what thy bosom ran–
Blood that but one drop of
has the pow’r to win
All the world forgiveness
of its world of sin.
7. Jesus whom I look at
shrouded here below,
I beseech thee, send me
what I thirst for so,
Some-day to gaze on thee
face to face in light
And be blest for ever
with thy glory’s sight.
Jesus My Lord My God My All
1. Jesus! my Lord, my God, my all!
How can I love Thee as I ought?
And, how revere this wond’rous gift,
So far surpassing hope or thought? (R)
Sweet Sacrament! we Thee adore!
O make us love Thee more and more!
O make us love Thee more and more!
2. Had I but Mary’s sinless heart,
To love Thee with, my dearest King;
O with what bursts of fervent praise,
Thy goodness, Jesus, would I sing! (R)
3. O see! within a creature’s hand
The vast Creator deigns to be,
Reposing infant-like, as though
On Joseph’s arm, or Mary’s knee.(R)
4. Thy body, soul, and Godhead all!,
O mystery of love divine!
I cannot compass all I have,
For all Thou hast and art are mine! (R)
5. Sound, sound His praises higher still,
And come, ye angels, to our aid,
‘Tis God! ’tis God! the very God
Whose power both man and angels made! (R)
Pange Lingua(Sing My Tongue the Saviour's Glory)
1. Sing, my tongue, the Savior’s glory,
Of His flesh the mystery sing,
Of the blood, all price exceeding,
Shed by our immortal king,
Destined, for the world’s redemption,
From a noble womb to spring.
2. Of a pure and spotless virgin,
Born for us, His love to show,
He, as man, with man conversing,
Stayed, the seeds of truth to sow;
Then He closed in wondrous fashion,
This His life on earth below.
3. On the night of that last supper,
Seated with His chosen band,
He, the paschal victim eating,
First fulfils the law’s command;
Then as food to all His brethren
Gives Himself with His own hand.
4. Christ, the Word made flesh, by speaking,
Earthly bread to flesh He turns;
Wine becomes His blood so precious—
Unconceived in human terms!
Hearts sincere perceive this marvel;
Faith its lessons quickly learn.
5. Down in adoration falling,
This great sacrament we hail;
Over ancient forms of worship
Newer rites of grace prevail;
Faith tells us that Christ is present
When our human senses fail.
6. To the everlasting Father,
And the Son who made us free,
And the Spirit, God proceeding,
From them each eternally,
Be salvation, honor, blessing,
Might and endless majesty.
